Microlearning: Understanding the Teenage Brain​
This project showcases a dynamic microlearning course meticulously designed to empower South Carolina's foster parents with a profound understanding of the intricate world of the teenage brain. As foster parents play a vital role in shaping the lives of adolescents in their care, this course offers a condensed yet comprehensive curriculum that delves into the unique developmental aspects, challenges, and opportunities of the teenage years. Through bite-sized, engaging modules, participants will gain insights into adolescent behavior, communication techniques, and strategies for fostering a supportive and nurturing environment. The course equips foster parents with valuable knowledge to build stronger connections with the teens they serve, ultimately enhancing the quality of care and support provided.
Literature Review: Compassion Fatigue​
This project represents a comprehensive Literature Review focused on the critical issues of compassion fatigue and burnout among case managers within the Department of Social Services. It serves as a foundational resource to explore the existing body of knowledge and research surrounding the emotional tolls experienced by these dedicated professionals. Through an extensive analysis of academic studies, articles, and expert insights, this review sheds light on the factors, symptoms, and potential interventions related to compassion fatigue and burnout. It aims to equip case managers, their supervisors, and stakeholders with a deeper understanding of the challenges they face and provides a knowledge base for crafting effective strategies and support mechanisms. This Literature Review serves as a cornerstone in the pursuit of mitigating burnout and ensuring the well-being of those who work tirelessly to serve our communities.
Program Proposal: Child Welfare Basic Training
This project presents a comprehensive Program Proposal that aims to bridge the knowledge gap for non-agency individuals involved in the Department of Social Services Child Welfare Division. The proposal outlines the development of a vital training program designed to equip these partners with the fundamental skills and insights necessary to support child welfare initiatives effectively. It addresses key topics such as child protection, legal aspects, and best practices in child welfare. This proposal reflects our commitment to ensuring that all stakeholders, including non-agency personnel, play a collaborative and informed role in safeguarding the well-being of our community's children. Through this program, we aspire to create a stronger, more unified network dedicated to the welfare of our most vulnerable.
